Teaching Explorations

Teaching Explorations are focused, personal investigations of teaching. Choose an aspect of instruction that matters to you, gather classroom evidence with SeeMeTeach, make a targeted change, and examine what happens.

Why Teacher Explorations?

Studying and reflecting on one's teaching is integral to a teacher's professional life. It should begin during teacher preparation and become a consistent, expected component of a teacher's career. Teaching Explorations support this self-study process, as each exploration focuses on implementing or analyzing a strategy, a teaching model, or teacher-student interaction that can enhance any educator's teaching.

Why Data?

Using Data from the SMT observation tool helps you focus on discrete teacher decisions made while teaching. Data guides feedback or serves as markers and indicators to help you adjust or fine-tune your teaching engine to checkered-flag levels of excellence.
